Space Saving Shelving Systems at Intertek Testing
A unique mobile shelving system was used to solve space restrictions in the offices of Intertek Testing Services (formerly Spoornet)in Edwin Swales Drive, Durban.
The Natal branch of Universal Storage Systems was sub-contracted by the office designer to come up with a system that would give their customer the required filing capacity in the smallest possible area.
The client was previously using a series of four-drawer filing cabinets, but the position and constant use of these was severely restricting the working area in the general office.
With Universal's considerable experience in the conceptualisation of effective storage storage and filing solutions, it was a straight-forward matter to provide the necessary solution. Universal Storage Systems is a market leader in its field, and adheres to the philosophy of using the best quality materials in the manufacture of their products. In addition, their after-sales service enables them to guarantee total customer satisfaction
"We installed five Uni-office mobile shelving systems at Intertek Testing Services", said Universal Storage Systems' Natal branch manager, Ron Channon. "The shelving units were fitted with pull-out filing cradles and we supplied wire file organisers for A4 type documents", he continued.
The balance was fitted with shelves for lever arch file storage. This made the working area less cluttered, allowing more space for the staff to move in.
The system had to be installed at a time when the offices were not being used. Universal Storage Systems went in over a weekend and completed the project in time for business to resume on Monday morning.
